What to Bring
Clothing
Dress in layers as mornings can be cool and afternoons may warm up: include a top layer jacket or wind-breaker, a mid-layer as a sweatshirt or fleece, and a base layer like a t-shirt. Wear pants to begin the day and have shorts available if you want to change as temperatures rise.
Sneakers, boat shoes, or rubber-bottom low-cut boots are ideal for the boat. Flip-flop wearers are cautioned as seawater may get on deck and create a slippery surface. Bare feet are not advised as hooks and other sharp items may be on the deck.
Food & Drink
No food is provided on board, so bring your lunch, snacks, and drinks.
Bottled spring water is always available for the passengers.
Beer and wine are permitted in moderation, but hard alcohol is not allowed.
The Lucas & Hannah can cater food and beverages with our local vendors, please call us at (978) 235-5411 for details.
Alcoholic Beverages
No hard alcohol is allowed on board, a small amount of beer and wine will be allowed aboard your trip. Remember, we are going to sea, if you want to drink there are many barrooms in Gloucester.
Sun Protection
Don’t forget your sunscreen and sunblock, as these are not supplied on the boat. With strong sun rays and water reflection, it's important to stay protected. Absolutely wear sunglasses; polarized ones are recommended for better visibility into the water. Use croakies or eyewear retainers to prevent losing your sunglasses overboard. A cap or sun hat will help shield your face and neck. Fishing neck gaiters and long-sleeved shirts that wick moisture will block out the sun's rays.
Devices
Make sure to bring your fully charged phone and camera. There are no electrical outlets available on the boats and no way to charge your device. Binoculars are great to have for scanning the horizon and looking for fish and whales. Drones are not permitted.
Coolers
Bring a large cooler to keep in your car, as this cooler does not go on the boat. At end of your trip, you’ll receive ice to pack the fillets and fish you caught.
Over-the-Counter Medications
Remember to bring your own aspirin, ibuprofen, sea-sickness pills, or legal medications as the boats do not carry these items.
Smoking
Smoking and vaping are permitted but please be considerate of your boat mates when using these items and remember not to dump cigarette butts into the ocean, use the on-deck waste barrels for your butts, plastics and trash.
No Illegal Drugs
No illegal drugs are allowed on our boats in compliance with the USCG zero tolerance policies. The use or presence of illegal drugs will cause the trip to be forfeited, and the boat returned to the dock.
No Firearms
